Rail

Rail possessions come with a unique set of challenges, particularly when it comes to strict time constraints and the need for safe, efficient access to trackside sites. With limited access points, safety concerns, and the constant pressure to minimise disruption to services, speed and reliability are critical. As the provider with the widest variety of RRAPs across the UK, we offer solutions that are fast to install, with most platforms deployed in under 20 minutes. Our products are designed for ease of use, with the majority available on a dry hire basis, and all come with Network Rail approval where necessary.

How We Support You

Safety is paramount in everything we do. To ensure the highest standards, all our products for use on track infrastructure hold Network Rail Approval certificates. With qualifications across CORS, CDM, Sentinel, and Sustainable Rail, we cover all the essential requirements to work on Network Rail’s Managed Infrastructure.

While the majority of our products are designed for easy installation without the need for professional help, our STRAIL and embankment steps are an exception. These require a more detailed approach, so we offer a free survey to ensure everything is planned and installed safely. Our team will manage every aspect, including planning, delivery, and expert installation, as well as providing ongoing maintenance, re-sites, and support throughout the hire.

Once the hire period ends, we'll coordinate a flexible collection schedule to suit your needs. You can rely on us to handle every detail while maintaining the highest health and safety standards on-site.

Rapid Rail Access Points (RRAPs)

Our RRAPs provide temporary, stable access to railway tracks for maintenance and construction. Designed for fast installation, they support heavy vehicles while protecting the track. For areas with overhead lines (OHL), RRAPs can be installed by hand as soon as possession is granted. This saves time by allowing access without waiting for OHL isolation. Once isolated, rail vehicles (RRVs) can immediately access the track, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.

Temporary Roadways

Our temporary roadway hires provide safe, efficient access for rail projects, protecting track structures, sleepers, and the underlying ground. With our range of plastic and aluminium panels, we create bespoke stable surfaces, preventing vehicles from getting stuck in unstable terrain, and enabling faster movement of machinery. With quick installation and removal, these cost-effective, versatile solutions reduce environmental impact, minimise disruption, and are ideal for short-term projects or areas without permanent roads.

Testimonials

Network Rail

“I’d nearly given up until I asked TPA and they explained about these temporary panels and they were perfect. They did exactly what I needed them to. TPA are a great company. They were very helpful in getting them to me at late notice and the product is perfect for the job we required. We would certainly use them again when the work suits.” - Network Rail’s permanent (Track) supervisor for Reading DU.

SES

SES lift planner (Scotland) Dave McNee said: “Although the works have been pretty straightforward, every Saturday night can be different, but TPA have always been ready, especially when sometimes there have been last-minute works and I need a UTAS RRAP and road plates. It’s never an issue to get these at short notice.”
